Former Simpsons producer Sam Simon has reportedly said this week that he’s been told that his private poker games should have been on television a long time ago due to its high level of entertainment. Finally we will be able to see that in action, as he is putting this to the test with “Sam’s Game.”This show will debut on Playboy TV Thursday. The filming will be at The Palms casino and Resort in Las Vegas. This show is inspired by the many poker nights that Simon himself hosted regularly for his friends. It promises entertainment and includes Dave Attell, Artie Lange, Norm MacDonald and Jeff Ross and Simon’s former wife Jennifer Tilly among others. 2001 Playmate of the Year and a “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Brande Roderick will also appear.
“The stakes aren’t the biggest, the players aren’t the best, but the game is definitely the funniest,” Simon stated. Poker professional and champions Jennifer Leigh and Phil Laak will also be joining in the Texas Hold ‘Em games.
The show has been described as a raunchy comedy with unfiltered language. The original idea for the show came from Playboy TV itself, which knew about Simon’s entertaining, hot private games. Simon confirmed this, “I’ve spent years in development to try to get shows on the air. When a network calls and says, `We want to shoot this’ the answer is Yes.”
